Shop Register

Privacy policy

This policy describes the Shop Register desktop application and this information website. For questions, contact the app operator at saurabhkrmohanka@gmail.com.

Information stored by the application

The application stores shop settings, retailer names and optional contact details, items, sales, payments, discounts, returns, corrections, drafts and stock records on the computer where it is installed. You choose what information to enter. Each installation has independent records.

Google account and Drive access

When you connect Google, the application receives your Google account identifier, email address and authorization tokens. These identify the backup account, support authorized account recovery and allow background backups. Google handles the sign-in; Shop Register does not receive your Google password.

The application requests openid, email and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. Drive access is used to upload, list, download, restore and delete backup files accessible to Shop Register. It does not request full Drive access, Gmail access, contacts or calendar access.

Use and sharing

Records are used for the features you operate and for backups you enable. Backup contents are sent directly from the application to your Google Drive over HTTPS. Shop Register does not send those shop records to an operator-run database or use Google user data for advertising, sale, or AI model training. Google processes stored files under its own terms and privacy policy. If you email support, the recipient receives the information you choose to send.

Storage and protection

The app uses the operating system's secure storage for Google authorization tokens. The owner PIN/password controls application access. Local databases and backup files are not encrypted with a separate backup password; anyone with access to those files may be able to read them. Protect your computer, backup folders and Google account.

Retention and deletion

Live shop records remain until you remove them. Hiding or clearing retailer history only changes its visibility; it preserves internal records. The default backup policy keeps recent backups for 24 hours, daily copies for 30 days and monthly copies for 12 months, with protective exceptions for the latest, pending and safety copies. Copies in a previously connected Google account remain there until removed.

You can revoke Google access through your Google Account's third-party connections. Revoking access stops future authorized access but does not automatically delete existing backups or local records. Delete unwanted backup files in Google Drive and local storage separately. Contact support for help finding your application data and backups.

Website and changes

This information site has no account forms, advertising or custom analytics. Its hosting provider may process ordinary request information such as IP addresses and browser information to deliver and secure the site. We will update this page when the application's data practices change.
